Richard Brewer CMILT MAIRSO- National Register of LGV Instructors-Manager
Richard is hugely passionate about the road transport industry, and is dedicated to making a measurable difference to the sector.
Richard was born into the transport industry, thanks to his family running their own haulage business. His first role in the sector was as a trainee commercial vehicle mechanic before setting about building a successful career in other fields. So far, he has gained 30 years’ experience working in a variety of roles, which include professional LGV driver, LGV instructor, Warehouse Manager, Depot Training Co-ordinator for major 3PL’s, and Supply Chain Skills Manager.
Richard has broad industry knowledge, and holds the Certificate of Professional Competence for Transport Managers (Road Haulage), is a qualified LGV instructor (including train-the-trainer), an ISO9001 Lead Auditor, an advanced driver, and was once a finalist for Driver of the Year.

John Bowman MIED NATIONAL REGISTER of LGV Instructors-Project consultant
Since 1998, John has been at the forefront of the development of modern, vocational training and development in the transport and logistics sector.
Working with employers, trade bodies, DVSA, training providers and awarding organisations he led the development of the current range of vocational qualifications and apprenticeships used in the sector. John is committed to improving the professionalism of vocational drivers and raising public awareness of their critical role in the UK economy.
He joined the RTITB team in 2014 to work on products that support those who train vocational drivers and help employers recognise high quality. John sees the NRI as the key component in the creation of a market where buyers and providers of LGV driver training share an understanding of what ‘good’ training looks like and have the means to identify trainers who consistently deliver the required high standards and pass rates. John is part of the NRI’s Governance Committee.
Hannah kuiter BA(Hons) NATIONAL REGISTER of LGV INstructors- Administrator
Hannah has a degree in teaching and will utilise her knowledge of learning and assessment in her role with the NRI. Hannah has worked as an administrator in a logistics and transport business in the past and as the scheme administrator will be the first point of contact for instructors on the register. Hannah deals with all aspects of NRI administration including exam centre approval applications, transfer requests, examination candidate lists and processing examination results.
